Photinia Robusta - Red Leaf Photinia
Photinia Robusta is an evergreen, incredibly versatile fast-growing shrub that produces dark-glossy green leaves that become red colour when new growth is displayed. The plant has a reputation for easy care as it can tolerate a wide range of growing conditions, even negligence from a gardener. Once established, it can also deal with weather conditions like frosts and coastal. Photinia makes an attractive hedge plant for privacy and shelter, especially during the spring when it's lovely flowers bloom. Its various hybrid varieties make it ideal for a wide range of garden settings.
FEATURES: This hybrid shrub was raised in Sydney Australia and
was selected for its brilliantly coloured coppery red new shoots which
are attractive over an extended period. Older leaves are deep glossy
green. Rounded heads of many tiny cream flowers.
CONDITIONS: Suited to fertile moist soils in full sun. Tolerant of
average fertility garden soils and frost.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Enrich the soil with well-rotted compost included
in a thick mulch layer. Water by deep soaking occasionally over hot
