Dwarf Citrus Orange Washington Navel 5L
A large, early ripening, seedless and easy to peel orange. Fruit has
a rich and sweet flavour. Trees grow 5-10m and have deep green
foliage. Sweetly scented white orange blossom appears in spring.
SITE CONDITIONS: A warm, sunny position with fertle, well-drained soil is
essential. Most climatic regions are suitable so long as frosts are mild only.
CARING FOR YOUR TREE: Avoid damaging the roots and lower trunk to
prevent disease entry. Water well during dry periods. Mubh the area, to
keep roots cool and suppress weeds, leaving a 25mm gap around the trunk.
Fertilise usinga citrus fertiliser as directed.
PLANT IN G: Cultivate to the depth of the plants container over an area three
times its diameter. In poorly drained soil cultivate shallowly over a large area
a nd above it ma ke a raised mound of free-draining soil as deep as the plant's
container. Remove the pant from the container without damaging the roots
or lower trunk. Do not tease the roots out Make a hole in the centre of the
cultivated area, or mound, and position the plant in it so that the soil and the
top of the root ball are at exactly the same level. After backfilling around the
tree, gently firm the soil down and apply enough water to soak the area to the
full depth of the roots. Do not put fertiliser in the hole when planting.
