Dicksonia antarctica is a native Australian fern commonly known as a Soft Tree Fern. They have large trunks covered in brown hairs and beautiful, large, FEATURES: Unusual in producing several stems from
underground rhizomes so can send up a new trunk some
distance away. Also, the stems are not covered in fibrous
roots. Trunks are coarsely textured and stem bases have
long whitish hairs
CONDITIONS: Suited to fertile maist sols in semi-shade.
Once established will tolerate a fair amount of sun
FOR BEST RESULTS: Enrich soil with well-rotted compost
and mulch well.
