This gorgeous red flowered rounded shrub has an elongated weeping habit. With soft gray/green leaves and long pendulous branches, it is covered with long silky red hairs that simply makes it more appealing. The flower can be seen less in Autumn, and you can enjoy a spot flowering at other times. Same as other family members of Callistemon viminalis, it will tolerate mild frosts, second line salt and wet to saline oils and acid. This green shrub is a vigorous grower and makes an amazing specimen around water features like around ponds. Even it looks great as a screen/hedge. This plant attracts birds to your garden, especially scarlet Honeyeater. It just doesn’t like drought periods and grows at its best with regular weekly watering.
