Also known as the Common Lilly Pilly, Acmena Smithii is an evergreen plant that can be used to create privacy from neighbours. It is a densely foliaged, summer-flowering, shapely, winter-fruiting evergreen plant, that belongs to the myrtle family Myrtle family Myrtaceae. Features rough woody bark, shiny and smooth dark-red young foliage that turns into rich, dark green foliage with age. Planted as hedgerows or shrubs, the plant produces a lot of white, staminate, fluffy flowers during Summer, which are further followed by dark mauve edible berries. Also perfect for cultivating in protected seaside sites or gardens. Unpruned, the plant can grow about 3 to 5 metres tall in the garden.
